Slack finally realized that Slack makes permanent remote work possible

All it took was a pandemic, but the maker of a widely used remote-work tool has finally come to the startling conclusion that permanent remote work might actually be possible. 

San Francisco-based Slack announced Friday that, contrary to its office-first culture, going forward it will allow employees the option to work remotely forever. That's right, the company that for many defines modern-day remote work is only catching up to the actual reality of that now. 

"Slack is going to become a much more distributed company," explained Robby Kwok, Slack's senior vice president of people, in a blog post announcing the change. "That means most employees will have the option to work remotely on a permanent basis if they choose, and we will begin to increasingly hire employees who are permanently remote." Read more...

Kid draws a hilarious family portrait, featuring his mother on her period

Periods are normal, but kids pointing them out in their sketches is something else. Australian woman Penny Rohleder shared a photo of her son's drawing on the Facebook page of blogger Constance Hall on Jul. 25, which well, says it all. SEE ALSO: James Corden tests out gymnastics class for his son and is instantly showed up by children "I don't know whether to be proud or embarrassed that my 5 year old son knows this," Rohleder wrote.  "Julian drew a family portrait. I said 'What's that red bit on me?' And he replied, real casual, 'That's your period.'"  Well, at least he knows. To give further context, Rohleder revealed she had pulmonary embolism in October 2016, and was put on blood thinning treatment which makes her periods "very, very bad," she explained to the Daily Mail .
