Here we are at Day 5, and you're doing great so far. Today, it's time to learn about exfoliating.

"Using an exfoliant at night can help reduce any immediate post-exfoliation sun sensitivity to diminish the risk of accelerating UV damage. It will also help your night renewal creams work better. This helps to remove not only natural build up of sebum and debris but also any residual makeup and any environmental toxins that collected on the skin's surface throughout the day," says Dr. Geyer.

Grab your exfoliant and your washcloth and let's get going!

WHAT TO DO TODAY

  • Use a gentle exfoliator and a washcloth with gentle, circular motions all over your face for about 30 seconds, then rinse with warm (not hot) water.
  • Make sure you're not over-scrubbing or applying too much pressure, as this can lead to excessive dryness and irritation.

WHAT TO DO FROM NOW ON

  • Leaving at least one day in between exfoliation, use a facial exfoliator 2-3 times per week.
Introduce body scrub to your routine for an all over exfoliation experience.

AND A BONUS SKIN CARE TIP

Look for products containing ingredients that will improve your skin's texture

  • Try to find products with mild exfoliating properties like glycolic acid or another alpha-hydroxyacid (AHA), which will help to provide a quick turnaround to improve dullness and sallowness.
  • Vitamin C is another powerful ingredient that will brighten skin's appearance without irritation.
