Ditching the Mental Traps That Are Making You Miserable

with Dr. Andrea Bonior

Welcome to Detox Your Thoughts! I'm so glad you're here. Over the next month, we're going to learn to identify some common thought patterns that can make us feel, anxious, insecure, and generally just...bad. Every other day, you'll receive a newsletter outlining a common mental trap that will likely feel familiar — from all-or-nothing thinking to the dysfunctional ways we seek validation. And then, I'll teach you specific and actionable ways to overcome them to start living a happier and healthier life.

Who's running this thing, you ask? I'm Dr. Andrea Bonior, a licensed clinical psychologist and speaker on the faculty of Georgetown University. I've also written The Washington Post's "Baggage Check" mental health advice column for 13 years and am the author of The Friendship Fix and the Publisher's Weekly bestseller Psychology: Essential Thinkers, Classic Theories, and How They Inform Your World. The techniques we'll go over in this course come from Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, mindfulness, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (a newish offshoot of CBT).

Of course, this course is for informational purposes only and should not be considered a substitute for one-on-one psychological care (the lawyers made me say that).

See you tomorrow!
