HOT SPOT Le Meridien Hotel + The Capital Grille on NYE Here's a creative pivot to kick off the new year: Le Meridien St. Louis Clayton, which opened in October, is transforming its guest rooms into private dining rooms on New Year's Eve in partnership with The Capital Grille. Dinner for each guest includes a 16-ounce bone-in filet and 6-ounce South African lobster tail, grilled asparagus with lemon mosto, Sam's mashed potatoes, and a dessert platter including flourless chocolate espresso cake and cheesecake with seasonal berries. Guests can book for dinner only ($265 for the meal in a private room) or turn it into an overnight stay (packages starting at $349). The overnight package can be purchased online with the promo code Z89, which also includes overnight parking, an in-room movie, and wifi. The guest room dinner can be booked through The Capital Grille by calling 314-725-0930.
INSIDER TIP Shake It Up It took us a minute to figure out why so many cars were queuing up at Chick-fil-A. So we got in line, ordered our usual Spicy Deluxe, and asked. As it was a few days prior to Christmas, the seasonal shake was experiencing typical peak demand, we were told, and "everybody is getting one." Devotees of the handspun Peppermint Chip Milkshake wax lovingly about its perfect texture, how the bits of peppermint candies and chocolate chips never seem to get stuck in the bright red straw, not to mention that dollop of whipped cream and cherry. The indulgence is available "through the holidays," which means it will melt away sometime in January.
MICRORANT Overly Critical Armchair Reviewers Since many restaurants are still treading water, now is not the time to be particularly critical in crowdsourced forums, especially considering it takes a lot of four- and five-star reviews to overcome the effects of a single one-star bash. Instead, convey any dissatisfaction directly to management. Chances are that more change will come about as a result of that exchange than from a penned public comment.

For centuries , humans have used fish oils, orally or topically, to treat a wide array of ailments, from aches and pains to rickets and gout. The popularity of this supplement has shifted over the years, as have its primary uses. But over the past couple of decades, the hype around fish oil has arguably reached an all-time high. According to National Institutes of Health statistics , in 2012, at least 18.8 million Americans used about $1.3 billion dollars worth of fish oil, making it the third most widely used supplement in the nation. (Sales reportedly flattened out at about that level around 2013.) Today, many use it because they believe it will broadly help their heart health , but others hold that fish oil can help with renal health, bone, and joint conditions, cognitive functions and mental wellness, and any number of other conditions. But is fish oil really as good for you as millions of Americans believe it is? Who should be taking it and when? We dove into the research and

Periods are normal, but kids pointing them out in their sketches is something else. Australian woman Penny Rohleder shared a photo of her son's drawing on the Facebook page of blogger Constance Hall on Jul. 25, which well, says it all. SEE ALSO: James Corden tests out gymnastics class for his son and is instantly showed up by children "I don't know whether to be proud or embarrassed that my 5 year old son knows this," Rohleder wrote. "Julian drew a family portrait. I said 'What's that red bit on me?' And he replied, real casual, 'That's your period.'" Well, at least he knows. To give further context, Rohleder revealed she had pulmonary embolism in October 2016, and was put on blood thinning treatment which makes her periods "very, very bad," she explained to the Daily Mail .
