Seven detention officers in Texas were fired in connection with the death of Marvin Scott III, a Black man who died after being restrained.

"Evidence I have seen confirms that these detention officers violated well-established Sheriff's Office policies and procedures," Jim Skinner, the sheriff in Collin County, said in a statement.
