Pass the Voting Rights Advancement Act now

We depend on advertisers like this to help fund our independent journalism. Thank you for your support. Our democracy is fragile and we have to fight for it. During the 2020 election, we witnessed overt efforts to disenfranchise Black, Latinx, and Indigenous voters through attacks on vote by mail, cuts to early voting periods, and unnecessary identification requirements.
And this year, hundreds of racist voter restriction laws have already been pushed forward in numerous state legislatures across the country.
The Voting Rights Advancement Act (VRAA) can help prevent many of those laws from taking effect and root out voting barriers that discriminate against voters of color by restoring critical elements of the 1965 Voting Rights Act. The ACLU is urging Congress to pass the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act now. Are you with us?
The VRAA is one of many efforts that must move forward to ensure our right to cast a ballot is protected, expanded, and equitable.
