Classic 1950 Bowman Football set offers snapshot of early pro game 

Bowman's 1950 football cards are a classic, offering snapshots of the still-developing pro game and of life and culture more than seven decades ago. The set was produced at an important moment in football history — the first season following the merger between the NFL and the All-American Football Conference. The set also tells the colorful stories of some unique players, from World War II heroes to players with some interesting offseason jobs



Game-worn sports memorabilia surging on collectibles market 

Game-worn jerseys from Mickey Mantle and Joe DiMaggio paced Heritage Auctions' Fall Sports Catalog Auction, with the 1954 Mantle jersey selling for $615K and DiMaggio's 1946 top going for $216K in the $26M event. Other memorabilia like Kobe Bryant's rookie sneakers and items from the Al Kaline and Lou Brock Collections also drew big dollars — another sign that the game-worn memorabilia business is booming. 



Kobe/LeBron Gold Refractor card sets record in PWCC Premier Auction

The 2008 Topps Chrome card is a classic, showing NBA legend LeBron James guarding Hall of Famer Kobe Bryant. When a collector found the card stashed in an old shoebox, he knew he might have a gem. After being graded a PSA 10, it was consigned to PWCC Marketplace, where it sold for a record price. 



Collectable to offer shares of world's finest soccer memorabilia 

Sports memorabilia investment firm Collectable has partnered with the World Football Collection to offer some of the finest soccer items in the world. Beginning next year, Collectable will offer shares of memorabilia from such soccer icons as Cristiano Ronaldo, David Beckham, Diego Maradona, Lionel Messi, Pelé and more.



Thanksgiving + Black Friday = Food, Football and Card Shows 

After binging on football and turkey on Thanksgiving Day, shoppers will embark on the busiest shopping day of the year. Collectors will also have plenty of opportunities to add to their collections or stock up on collectible Christmas gifts.
