An easy, beautiful Thanksgiving table — thanks to some help from the kids (yes, really!) {issue 58}
November 11, 2021 No. 58 Now that the spooky decor is put away, we're thinking ahead to turkey. Though our lead story has the best ideas for a gorgeous fall-themed tablescape, you may also want to keep one of these color-your-own tablecloths on hand for the kids' table. — Thao
Thanksgiving always brings chaos (the good kind!) to our home. One way to work ahead and involve my kiddo, without also making too much work for myself? We set a Thanksgiving table together, full of nature-inspired DIYs and elements taken straight from nature.
We head out on walks to gather leaves, twigs, rocks, and other found items to be used for decor. We use what we have around the house and do some simple DIYs to bring that special touch to the table. Everything comes together in the end (with a few practical edits from us), resulting in a table your child is so proud of, and one less job you have to tackle on the holiday!

cubby finds: stools for kids ask maxwell What are you cooking these days for dinner? We need some quick, satisfying meal ideas for busy weekdays! — Brian Dear Brian,
I like to eat the same things again and again — I'm not that adventurous — so if you want something tasty for adults and kids, I'm pretty good at that. But I've also got a secret weapon, which is the whole staff at Kitchn — a bunch of pro cooks. They've chipped in to send me some great ideas as well. Here's our top FIVE: Maxwell Ryan is a father and was an elementary school teacher in NYC before founding Apartment Therapy. He'd love to answer your question: askmaxwell@cubbyathome.com
