Breaking: Supreme Court Won’t Take Up Case of Catholic Hospital Sued for Refusing to Provide Gender Transition Surgery

The Supreme Court rejected an appeal from a Catholic hospital in California Monday that was sued after refusing to provide a hysterectomy surgery for a transgender man.

The High Court did not make any significant judgements on religious liberty and gender identity discrimination matters, and the case now returns to the state court for litigation matters dealing with the hospital specifically. Three conservative justices, including Justices Clarence Thomas, Samuel Alito, and Neil Gorsuch, opted to review the case while recent conservative appointee Justice Amy Coney Barrett chose to dismiss it.

The subject of the case was a transgender man, Evan Minton, who was supposed to receive a surgery with the Catholic Mercy San Juan Medical Center in Sacramento. Upon learning of the gender transition purpose of Minton’s procedure, a nurse cancelled Minton’s appointment. The patient subsequently filed a lawsuit against the hospital.

Kid draws a hilarious family portrait, featuring his mother on her period

Periods are normal, but kids pointing them out in their sketches is something else. Australian woman Penny Rohleder shared a photo of her son's drawing on the Facebook page of blogger Constance Hall on Jul. 25, which well, says it all.
