In meme culture, there’ve been a couple of users who’ve successfully broken the internet over the last few decades. The YouTuber Boxxy is definitely one of them, exploding onto 4chan back in 2008. Another man who also broke the internet is Anthony Adams, merely for rubbing his hands together and licking his lips in a classic meme. It’s a devious little gesture, similar to the hoax that “Finland Does Not Exist,” which isn’t true, but many believed it back in 2014 or at least memed it. | | In 2008, a video of an e-girl talking in the most abrasive, internet cadence was posted to YouTube. Her name was Boxxy, and it would only be revealed later on that she was a character created by a YouTuber Catie Wayne. Wayne’s video was soon posted to I-Am-Bored where it received a cult following across 4chan. The race to find Boxxy was on, with the character’s YouTube channel suddenly becoming the most subscribed channel of the month.
