Finding Life on Mars
Have you ever been abducted by aliens? Whilst you were being sucked up into the vortex, we hope you had a chance to look around because we reckon that out there in a galaxy far beyond, it looks a lot like Arman Bahreini's kaleidoscopic shots with our Color Negative 800 film, aka completely mesmerizing. Like Captain Kirk and his crew, our mission at Lomography is to "boldly go where no man has gone before". No idea is too wild for us! What's Cooking Good Looking?
You will need:
  • 1 × film roll of your choice
  • Liquid of choice – suggestions include: cola, lemon or lime juice, tea, coffee, gin, soap, soy sauce…the crazier the better!
  • Other ingredients – salt, baking powder, coffee powder…
Method:
  • 01. Mix all chosen ingredients together in a cup or mixing bowl
  • Drop your film roll into the solution and stir
  • Leave film roll to soak for up to 24 hours (harsher chemical solutions will require less soaking time)
  • Remove film from solution, rinse with clean cold water and leave to dry in indirect sunlight (this can take several days to a couple of weeks)
  • Load into your favorite camera and let the experimentation begin!
