This story contains graphic descriptions of gun violence. A security officer at Oxford High School allegedly thought the deadly November 2021 shooting was an active shooter drill, telling investigators that she assumed a bleeding victim she walked past had "really good makeup" on. During the Michigan shooting that killed four students and injured several more, armed officer Kimberly Potts also allegedly opened the door of a bathroom that two students and the shooting suspect were in, closed the door, and walked away. One of the students, Justin Shilling, was later shot in that bathroom and died the next day. "It's difficult to know that he could still be here if somebody did their job," Craig Shilling, Justin Shilling's father, told reporters yesterday. These new allegations were revealed on Wednesday by the victims' families and their lawyer, Ven Johnson. The families are now seeking to include Potts as a defendant in their civil lawsuit. Johnson said it was the fourth time they were filing a motion to amend the lawsuit, and criticized the school district's lack of cooperation and transparency. The 15-year-old shooting suspect has been charged with murder and terrorism, among other charges. His parents, who bought him the gun he allegedly used in the shooting, also face involuntary manslaughter charges — an extraordinary indictment that the prosecutor said was aimed at holding them responsible as gun owners. |

STAYING ON TOP OF THIS Russia is transporting Ukrainian orphans over the border, violating international law |
- Transporting Ukrainian children to Russia and putting them up for adoption has raised concerns among social workers, lawyers, and officials at local and international organizations. Around 30 of them told BuzzFeed News that they fear this trend is part of Vladimir Putin's larger strategy to empty the territories his military forces are trying to occupy and take control of the younger population by deporting them to territories that are already under Russian control.
- Tatiana Tolstokorova said she is sure her son, daughter-in-law, and granddaughter — who she last saw in March right before their hometown of Mariupol was bombed — are alive somewhere in Ukraine or Russia. She's been searching for them ever since.

A 74-year-old man will go to prison for more than 2 years after threatening to attack LGBTQ groups and pride events. For eight years, retired teacher Robert Fehring sent at least 60 anonymous letters to individuals and government officials in which he threatened to kill LGBTQ people. With a potential Juul ban in the works, ex-smokers fear they may return to cigarettes. "Juul is not perfect, but it's the closest we've gotten to an extremely effective smoking cessation tool," said one vape user. Here's what you should pack in your sexual health emergency kit. Because as sexy as spontaneity can be, UTIs, STIs, and unplanned pregnancies are not so desirable. |

| The Duffer brothers have already revealed quite a lot about the fifth and final season of Stranger Things. Here's everything you need to know. "We do feel good about this ending," Matt Duffer told Collider. Demi Lovato appeared to slam her ex Wilmer Valderrama in new lyrics that appeared to reference their controversial 12-year age gap. "Finally 29 / Funny, just like you were you at the time," she sings, which appears to be a reference to her current age and the age Wilmer was when he began dating her when she was 17. Monica Lewinsky responded to backlash after she asked Beyoncé to change a "Partition" song lyric that references her affair with Bill Clinton. The use of Lewinsky's name within the context of sexual innuendoes has been common in rap music for years.
