But First: Moby’s Punk Rock Vegan Movie is the opening night film of the 2023 Slamdance Film Festival. Yes, it’s true — the musician, who is also an avid animal rights activist, is making his directorial debut. The movie examines the relationship between punk rock and animal rights.


Casey Anthony: The trailer for Peacock’s Casey Anthony docuseries is out, and it’s the first time many of us have heard from her since the 2011 murder trial in which she was acquitted of murder charges connected to the death of her 2-year-old daughter Caylee. Now, she’s telling her story again in Casey Anthony: Where the Truth Lies, which begins streaming on Nov. 29 on Peacock.


Empire of Light: The trailer for Sam Mendes’ romance drama just came out yesterday, and it already has a million views. Olivia Colman plays a sad movie theater manager who cries a lot and develops a relationship with the theater’s newest employee, played by Michael Ward. Watch the trailer here and consider seeing this movie about a movie theater in an actual movie theater when it comes out on Dec. 9.

Kid draws a hilarious family portrait, featuring his mother on her period

Periods are normal, but kids pointing them out in their sketches is something else. Australian woman Penny Rohleder shared a photo of her son's drawing on the Facebook page of blogger Constance Hall on Jul. 25, which well, says it all. SEE ALSO: James Corden tests out gymnastics class for his son and is instantly showed up by children "I don't know whether to be proud or embarrassed that my 5 year old son knows this," Rohleder wrote.  "Julian drew a family portrait. I said 'What's that red bit on me?' And he replied, real casual, 'That's your period.'"  Well, at least he knows. To give further context, Rohleder revealed she had pulmonary embolism in October 2016, and was put on blood thinning treatment which makes her periods "very, very bad," she explained to the Daily Mail .
