| Hello, hello! I'm Nicole Papantoniou, the Kitchen Appliances Lab Director in the Good Housekeeping Institute. I oversee all testing and content related to cooking, eating and drinking products. If you came to visit me in the Institute, you'd find my station and desk overflowing with air fryers, water bottles, Stanley cups, knives, cutting boards, pans, you name it — I tell my friends it's because I have a hard time letting go of products until they're fully tested (but I'm actually just really obsessed with kitchen gear.) |

I use Black Friday as a good time to replace or upgrade the things in my kitchen that I often use, since many brands offer steeper than usual markdowns. New nonstick pans, cookware sets, individual cookware items like a stock pot or Dutch oven, knives, cutting boards and even gunked up air fryers that can't really be saved, are a few items that come to mind. It's also a great time to try out the niche appliances you've been eyeing, like a milk frother or heated mug. And really, these smaller appliances make great gifts, too. |

SEE ALSO: James Corden tests out gymnastics class for his son and is instantly showed up by children "I don't know whether to be proud or embarrassed that my 5 year old son knows this," Rohleder wrote. "Julian drew a family portrait. I said 'What's that red bit on me?' And he replied, real casual, 'That's your period.'" Well, at least he knows. To give further context, Rohleder revealed she had pulmonary embolism in October 2016, and was put on blood thinning treatment which makes her periods "very, very bad," she explained to the Daily Mail . The popularity of this supplement has shifted over the years, as have its primary uses. But over the past couple of decades, the hype around fish oil has arguably reached an all-time high. According to National Institutes of Health statistics , in 2012, at least 18.8 million Americans used about $1.3 billion dollars worth of fish oil, making it the third most widely used supplement in the nation. (Sales reportedly flattened out at about that level around 2013.) Today, many use it because they believe it will broadly help their heart health , but others hold that fish oil can help with renal health, bone, and joint conditions, cognitive functions and mental wellness, and any number of other conditions.
