In 2017, I saw with a few journo pals below the podium on the west front of the Capitol and watched Donald Trump be sworn in as the 45th president of the United States. After taking the oath of office, which he took approximately as seriously as he did contracts he'd signed with workmen in Atlantic City, he delivered what is unquestionably the weirdest inaugural address in American history—the now infamous "American Carnage" speech. Former President George W. Bush, seated nearby, reputedly called Trump's remarks "some weird shit," which I believe he actually did say because that's what all of us in my little slice of the audience said, too. |

It's tough to pinpoint exactly what's in store for video games in 2025. Grand Theft Auto VI is reportedly due out sometime this year. It's a sentence that could have existed on a list like this for the past decade, but an official trailer from Rockstar Games revealed that it's finally time to return to their wonderfully fucked-up playground. If fans play GTA VI at any time before December 31, that game alone will cement 2025 as one of the biggest years in video game history. Thankfully, it's not the only title we have our eyes on this year. |

Ties are making a comeback. You can see it on the runways of big brands like Saint Laurent, Prada, and Hermès. Or on the social feeds of Aimé Leon Dore, Todd Snyder, and Drake's. Preppy Americana and '70s swagger are both having a moment right now. The vibe is very tie friendly, and it's trickling down to real guys on the streets of New York, London, Paris—and soon, your town, too. Maybe that external validation makes it easier to consider wearing a tie again. But even if the winds of fashion were blowing in a different direction, it'd still be the right move. What better way to thumb your nose at convention than wearing a tie just because you damn well feel like it. And of course, there are still times when wearing a tie is necessary. So, when should you actually wear one? Which one should you wear? And when you knot that sucker up, which technique should you choose? If it all sounds overwhelming, worry not. Let's break it down. |

Periods are normal, but kids pointing them out in their sketches is something else. Australian woman Penny Rohleder shared a photo of her son's drawing on the Facebook page of blogger Constance Hall on Jul. 25, which well, says it all. SEE ALSO: James Corden tests out gymnastics class for his son and is instantly showed up by children "I don't know whether to be proud or embarrassed that my 5 year old son knows this," Rohleder wrote. "Julian drew a family portrait. I said 'What's that red bit on me?' And he replied, real casual, 'That's your period.'" Well, at least he knows. To give further context, Rohleder revealed she had pulmonary embolism in October 2016, and was put on blood thinning treatment which makes her periods "very, very bad," she explained to the Daily Mail . For centuries , humans have used fish oils, orally or topically, to treat a wide array of ailments, from aches and pains to rickets and gout. The popularity of this supplement has shifted over the years, as have its primary uses. But over the past couple of decades, the hype around fish oil has arguably reached an all-time high. According to National Institutes of Health statistics , in 2012, at least 18.8 million Americans used about $1.3 billion dollars worth of fish oil, making it the third most widely used supplement in the nation. (Sales reportedly flattened out at about that level around 2013.) Today, many use it because they believe it will broadly help their heart health , but others hold that fish oil can help with renal health, bone, and joint conditions, cognitive functions and mental wellness, and any number of other conditions.
