People are using social media to offer food, shelter and Netflix to flood victims in Mumbai

As rain continues to fall across India, roads have been closed, houses destroyed and thousands affected by rising floodwaters.

But in the Indian city of Mumbai, many are opening up their homes and extending a helping hand to all those affected by the floods, the worst the city has seen in a decade — using social media. 

The hashtag #RainHosts began trending on Twitter as offers of help poured in:
