TikTok will reportedly sell to Oracle after Microsoft bid rejected

Oracle has beat out Microsoft to win the bid for TikTok's U.S. operations, according to a report by the Wall Street Journal. The B2B database software company isn't exactly the first name you think of when you think "meme-filled video sharing app for teens," but we're all extending ourselves a bit more these days.

Microsoft announced that TikTok's Chinese parent company ByteDance rejected its proposal to buy the popular app in a very brief, slightly sassy blog post on Sunday. 

"[W]e would have made significant changes to ensure the service met the highest standards for security, privacy, online safety, and combatting disinformation, and we made these principles clear in our August statement," wrote Microsoft. "We look forward to seeing how the service evolves in these important areas." Read more...

Kid draws a hilarious family portrait, featuring his mother on her period

Periods are normal, but kids pointing them out in their sketches is something else. Australian woman Penny Rohleder shared a photo of her son's drawing on the Facebook page of blogger Constance Hall on Jul. 25, which well, says it all. SEE ALSO: James Corden tests out gymnastics class for his son and is instantly showed up by children "I don't know whether to be proud or embarrassed that my 5 year old son knows this," Rohleder wrote.  "Julian drew a family portrait. I said 'What's that red bit on me?' And he replied, real casual, 'That's your period.'"  Well, at least he knows. To give further context, Rohleder revealed she had pulmonary embolism in October 2016, and was put on blood thinning treatment which makes her periods "very, very bad," she explained to the Daily Mail .
