The Restaurant Opening We're Obsessing Over
Do you love Top Chef as much as we do? It's a guilty pleasure for a lot of us at Sunset. (The rest of us own our obsession proudly.) Have you ever wondered what became of past winners and audience favorites? We looked into it and discovered that many of them have opened restaurants of their own scattered all over the West. (We hope there's one not too far from you.)
Although he was never on Top Chef (nobody's perfect), one other food pro we've been following his whole career is pasta master Evan Funke. We were sad when his limited run pop-up Fingers Crossed closed, but now we're looking forward to his next adventure, Roman-styled Mother Wolf, a brick-and-mortar location opening this fall in Hollywood.
On a non-food related note, I'm also starting to think about Halloween. Are you looking for decor inspiration too? Digital editor Jennifer Konerman is way ahead of all of us, with tons of fun ideas for decorating your front porch. Cheers to trying something new this weekend! —Nicole Clausing, digital producer and newsletter editor Get the Mug Your Coffee Craves If you've never experienced a Yeti product, we have one thing to tell you: Believe the hype. Seriously, these mugs and tumblers are ideal for anyone who appreciates a hot and/or cold beverage—the vacuum-sealed stainless steel design maintains whatever you're drinking at its original temperature for what seems like hours. Not only that, they're easy to clean and nigh indestructible, so whether you're throwing them in a backpack for a camping excursion or just feeling, you know, occasionally clumsy, you can be sure the mugs will remain undamaged.
And finally—ahem—they come in our signature orange color, with the Sunset logo stenciled on one side, so you can show off your pride in the West and help support this fine publication at the same time.
One last time: We own these ourselves, we love them, and we think you'll love them, too.
