When Heather Low decided to dip her toe in the water of making changes to her 1989 Clarendon built home, as a keen cook, she began with an idea to replace the granite benchtop and contacted her friend and designer Cate Liedtke, to brainstorm ideas for a more modern kitchen.
The domino effect took hold of Heather and Cate's plans and before they knew it they were reflooring and flipping the living room and kitchen to create an entirely new open-plan space. "I spend so much time in the kitchen – why not make it bigger?" says Heather.
The end result is a vibrant, welcoming space with a palette led by teal tones for her late husband's beloved ocean, where Heather can cook up a storm and entertain loved ones, while the living room has become a calm oasis for reflection and relaxation.
