Here's what's been happening.

Seal pup rescued off B.C. coast

A harbour seal pup found weak and alone on a beach has a sweet new name and is being cared for by specialized staff at the Vancouver Aquarium.

After being spotted by a concerned member of the public who called the RCMP, the pup was rescued and christened "Timbit."

Each year, the seals, sea lions, otters and other creatures admitted are named according to a theme. This year's is "Sweet Treats."

Optical phenomenon puts on show

Like a rainbow turned to run parallel to the horizon, circumhorizontal arcs made an appearance in parts of the Maritimes.

The unique optical phenomenon is part of the halo family of effects.

The arcs are created by the refraction of sunlight by tiny ice crystals in clouds high in the atmosphere.

$60M jackpot winner

A woman from Hamilton, Ont. is now a multimillionaire after she won the $60-million Lotto Max jackpot.

The $60-million payout is the largest ever to be awarded to a Lotto Max jackpot winner who purchased their ticket online.

"Just one ticket is all it takes. Five bucks."

Huge parking bill

A massive Russian plane that was grounded at Toronto Pearson International Airport back in February is racking up a substantial parking bill.

The Russian cargo plane, belonging to the airline Volga-Dnepr, has been parked at Toronto since Feb. 27 after the Canadian government closed the airspace to Russian aircraft operators.

The order banning Russian aircraft operators from Canadian airspace is still in place, meaning the plane is still not allowed to leave Canada.
