Scott Applewhite/AP Here's what we're following today: Arizona Sen. Kyrsten Sinema has agreed to move forward with the Inflation Reduction Act after Democrats reached an agreement over her concerns about the carried interest tax loophole. Her decision all but locks in the bill. An Amnesty International report is accusing Ukrainian forces of placing troops near noncombatants, putting them in danger in ways that could amount to war crimes. Ukrainian government officials say they evacuate civilians from combat areas, adding the report depicts "a false reality." Tuesday night's results for Republican-leaning Kansas' vote on abortion rights provides lessons for those both sides of the debate. Similar measures loom in Kentucky and Michigan, and as advocates analyze the results, they warn that messaging that worked in Kansas may not work nationwide. Over the past decade, Americans have become familiar with the sight of their president announcing the death of a terrorist leader. The way Barack Obama, Donald Trump and Joe Biden made these announcements revealed much about their own leadership.
