Here's what we're following today: First up Anna Moneymaker/Getty Images The U.S. is going to hit its debt limit today, and a high-stakes political battle is about to go down. House Republicans want to leverage must-pass legislation to raise the debt limit to extract federal spending cuts in some of the country's most popular social programs, but President Biden and congressional 🎧 Democrats say they aren't interested in negotiating. New Zealand's Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern says she plans to step down next month. She became the world's youngest female leader in 2017 at the age of 37, and says it's time for her to move on and she "no longer had enough in the tank." The convenience of Amazon's two-day shipping has a serious physical toll on warehouse employees. The Labor Department has cited Amazon for failing to keep workers safe at three warehouses, and federal safety inspectors found workers at high risk of lower back injuries and musculoskeletal disorders. As its only remaining elected officials depart, Haiti is reaching a breaking point. In the years since Haiti last held a democratic election, the country's challenges have spiraled: gang violence, inflation, a cholera outbreak and now, a piecemeal government.
