Plus, 2023 Oscars heat index
I first got a taste of the "spotlight" in an elementary school play where I was second-billed as Bookmark — both in name and object (shoutout to my uber-crafty grandma who made my costume out of a burlap sack!). I went on to win Corydon Central High School's Best Actor award my senior year after playing Conrad in a staging of Ordinary People. (What were we thinking?! That character may have scarred me for life.) I'm Gerrad Hall, and I'm an actor. Not really, but I certainly have a lot of love for the art, which is why I'm always so excited for the SAG Awards. We're officially in the home stretch of the 2023 Oscars "race" (check out our discussion about the use of that term on this week's episode of The Awardist podcast), and this ceremony could help bring some clarity to a couple categories where we've seen a variety of winners all season...or it could add an extra layer of intrigue (and unpredictability) if the actors award their highest honor to folks who've been on the cusp of accolades all season (see Dave Karger's and Joey Nolfi's predictions for their latest takes). In addition to our coverage on ew.com and our socials during the SAG Awards, EW and our partners at PEOPLE magazine will host our live red carpet show, so be sure to tune in for all of the action that happens before the envelopes are opened. —Gerrad Hall, Executive Editor If you are an Entertainment Union or Guild Member, please click here to participate in a brief, 4-question poll on behalf of our team at EW. | | | | | Enter the Captivating World of "Severance" on Apple TV+ | "Severance," directed by Ben Stiller and starring Adam Scott, was called one of the best series of 2022 in numerous publications including The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Rolling Stone and many more. As wars got planned and men with greyscale got skinned alive, Game of Thrones Season 7 episode two also gave us some resolution to the show's best unrequited love. Unsullied leader Grey Worm and Daenerys’ Secretary of State Missandei have been dancing around each other for seasons. First, it was just furtive eye glances and not-so-subtle conversations, then there was even some tear-stained cuddling last season. But tonight. Tonight, they got together.
