North American markets dropped at Tuesday's open after sweeping tariffs on Canada, Mexico and China were imposed by U.S. President Donald Trump's administration at 12:01 a.m. EST. The S&P 500 Index was down nearly one per cent in New York as of 9:30 a.m. EST, while in Toronto, the S&P/TSX Composite Index fell by more than 1.5 per cent. |
