Cape Town is the best city in the world – or at least according to Time Out, it is. The droves of digital nomads making their base in the Mother City would agree. Arguably, though, it's the city's locals that are most wrapped up in love for the Cape.

Take Tania Morkel for example, a Cape Town based woman who after suffering a near-fatal fall down a ravine during a hike up Table Mountain, decided that she would summit that peak another 64 times after her recovery, raising funds for the WSAR and Table Mountain National Park as she goes. That's a big love, and an even greater commitment to Cape Town.

The Mother City is not the only magic that South Africa has to offer though, not by a long shot.

In KwaZulu-Natal, for example –a province known for world-class safaris, mind-boggling mountain ranges and warm beaches– a 10-year conservation plan has launched to rescue and rewild 2000 southern white rhinos, with the renewal of their habitat on the agenda, too. Without a community's passion for the conservation of this lush region and its wildlife, crucial initiatives such as this one would not exist.

South Africans, you keep the love alive in this beautiful country.
