This Pasta Is So Good, I'm Eating It Two Nights in a Row (You'll Love It Too!) |
I decided to try this recipe because it's one of the most popular recipes on goodhousekeeping.com — and now I get why. Basically, it's proof that our readers have excellent taste! I always say I'm an OK cook but a very good eater — and this dish totally won me over. Colin did the shopping and the spiralizing — and while I probably would've bought the pre-spiralized zucchini, he swore it was easy. He made thicker spirals, which I worried would feel too chunky, but they added an amazing bit of texture and a light crunch. Next time, I'll try the thinner spaghetti-style spirals just to mix it up. We also doubled the spinach (highly recommend if you love leafy greens like I do) — and tonight I'm adding even more. I joked with Colin that this pasta could become our version of "stone soup," for which you just keep adding good things and letting it evolve. Bottom line: This recipe is a fresh, flexible, delicious dinner — easy to tailor to your family's taste. |

From Yard Sales to the GH Labs: Here's a Peek at My World...and Inside My Home! |
SOUL CENTER: In our house there's good reason to use the phrase "the kitchen is the heart of the home." It's the space most used by my friends and family — and more importantly, where we spend time together. Photo: Chi Tran, courtesy of Homeworthy. |
Come On In! A few weeks ago, the team from Homeworthy spent the day with me — starting with a tour of my house and ending at Good Housekeeping HQ in Manhattan. If you don't know Homeworthy, their videos are super casual and cozy — more like hanging out with a friend than filming a show, which made it easy (and really fun!) to talk about everything from the painting by my dad hanging in the kitchen to the IKEA bookcases we turned into built-ins to the old yard sale mirror that's now one of my favorite pieces in the house. We also talked about the real investments — like our custom kitchen sink, which sounds like such a little thing but honestly makes me happy every single day. |
HOME SWEET HOME: It's the mix of small joys and big memories (and discoveries!) that makes your house and the things it it feel like yours. One of my favorite features of my home is the fireplace we uncovered just inside the front door. Photos: Colin Faulkner. |
After we walked and talked through just about every room (and answered so many great questions about how we actually use the space from day to day), I piled the crew into my car and we headed into Manhattan. We spent the afternoon at the Good Housekeeping Institute, meeting some of the brilliant scientists, fiber experts, and product pros behind the GH Seal — the real magic-makers of my work world. One of the things I love about Homeworthy is that they really get it: Homes aren't showpieces — they're where life happens! Homeworthy is a platform whose mission is "devoted to extraordinary people and the beautiful places they call home." While I'm not sure how extraordinary I am, I do hope you'll check out the video (it's linked here!) — and if you do, I'd love to know: What's the piece in your home that tells your favorite story? | |

Imagine having a laugh so infectious, even animals join in on the fun. Taken at what looks to be a kind of farming expo, this interviewee's laugh is so contagious, it managed to get the chickens going. Per Australia's Nine.com.au , the segment is from RTV Noord's Expeditie Grunnen. Mid-interview, the pair begin to laugh and everything just escalates from there. SEE ALSO: Despite health risks, adventurous food lovers are trying raw chicken in Japan In all honesty, this may be the purest video on the internet. Periods are normal, but kids pointing them out in their sketches is something else. Australian woman Penny Rohleder shared a photo of her son's drawing on the Facebook page of blogger Constance Hall on Jul. 25, which well, says it all. SEE ALSO: James Corden tests out gymnastics class for his son and is instantly showed up by children "I don't know whether to be proud or embarrassed that my 5 year old son knows this," Rohleder wrote. "Julian drew a family portrait. I said 'What's that red bit on me?' And he replied, real casual, 'That's your period.'" Well, at least he knows. To give further context, Rohleder revealed she had pulmonary embolism in October 2016, and was put on blood thinning treatment which makes her periods "very, very bad," she explained to the Daily Mail .
