On the menu today: After being uncharacteristically patient and conciliatory with Vladimir Putin for many months now, President Trump declares he's had enough and he's getting tougher with Russia. Finally! When this president makes a move you wanted to see, you ought to stand up and applaud and give him credit. From where I sit, the president has been fantastic lately — strangely fantastic, disconcertingly and unnervingly fantastic, the sort of thing that makes you wonder if the mind-control ray finally started working. But I suspect some folks in the political pundit world have never quite figured out what to do when a figure they usually oppose makes a good move.

When the President Does What You Want, Celebrate

I'm thrilled to hear the news that the U.S. will be transferring weapons to our NATO allies, which our NATO allies will be transferring to Ukraine, and that new tariffs on Russia are in the works. You can read this morning's NR editorial about the moves here.
