"In spite of that not-so-minor flaw, though, these fictional bands from film and TV have better vibes, bangers and backstories than most acts in the charts.
"Netflix's Glass Heart is the latest to bring another brilliant fake band to our screens (and playlists), with its tale of two rival vocalists doing battle in both their personal and professional lives. Which means secrets abound, producers scheme and bops are all but guaranteed.

"Based on the novel of the same name, the eponymous band at the centre of Prime Video's starry series blended 70s rock nostalgia with Riley Keough and Sam Claflin's off-the-charts chemistry for… well, for a Fleetwood Mac-inspired implosion of addictive earworms. I still can't stop listening.
SEX BOB-OMB!
"Every millennial worth their salt will be able to sing the soundtrack to Scott Pilgrim vs. The World – even if the lyrics don't mean anything. Garage rock, evil exes aplenty and basslines that slap like it's forever 2009? Honestly, the only thing better is rival band (and Black Sheep hitmakers) The Clash at Demonhead, fronted by none other than Brie Larson herself.

"Longtime subscribers will already know how much I loved Netflix's KPop Demon Hunters, so it makes sense I've had the high-energy soundtrack on repeat ever since. Especially as Huntr/x are so much more than another girl band; they're Buffy-style demon hunters who belt out the likes of Golden and Takedown to help them slay – in every sense of the word.

"Lindsay Lohan was well and truly in her pop punk prime when she starred alongside Jamie Lee Curtis in the frankly iconic Freaky Friday. Here's hoping she recreates the guitar solo that defined a generation for the much-anticipated sequel when it drops later this summer…
