| July 26, 2025 Welcome to Cosmo's shopping newsletter. I'm Meg Uy, a shopping editor here at Cosmo, and this is Let's Talk Shop—aka my tiny corner of the internet, where I share my favorite finds and current obsessions. Right now? Beaded bags are everything to me—and honestly, it seems like the whole world agrees, judging by how often I spot them out in the wild. With their eclectic designs, vibrant colors, and eccentric embroidery, they've become total statement pieces. I've realized they're the perfect way to add a little spice to an outfit without going over the top or trying too hard. With that, I'm here to say, if you don't have one already…you might want to change something. Got a trend you need broken down? A must-have item you're hunting for? Hit me up at meg.uy@hearst.com! |

Beaded Bags Have Officially Taken Over My Life—What About You? |
There's no other purse I need. |

For months now, everywhere I turn, someone is carrying a beaded bag. And let me tell you, I've seen them in all sorts of cool variations—multicolored styles, quirky details, cheeky sayings, you name it. They're on the streets of New York City (the dreamy place I get to call home and in my humble opinion, the TRUE fashion capital of the world), all over TikTok where the girlies are scrambling for budget-friendly finds from Marshalls and TJ Maxx, and slung over the shoulders of top influencers vacationing in my Instagram Explore feed. I can't escape them—and honestly, I don't plan on doing so. I've been fully convinced—nay, influenced—that they've earned a spot in my wardrobe. And I'm just gonna say it: They've officially claimed their title as the bag of the summer. |

It all began with the iconic Staud hand-beaded Tommy flap shoulder bag, which is available in a variety of vibrant, kitschy designs—think embroidered tomatoes or the classic I ♥️ NY. From there, the viral craze took off. Everyone either had to have the original or was on the hunt for a more affordable alternative ($300+ isn't exactly pocket change!) that brought the same playful charm. Just like that, they became the go-to accessory for adding fun, flair, and a guaranteed "OMG, so cute, where did you get that?" reaction to any outfit. |

Lately, tons of brands have jumped on board with their own funky-chic interpretations that instantly turn heads and spark conversation. I personally think that the more colorful, the better—and if it's decked out in seashells, it's definitely coming with me on my next trip. So because I'm fully obsessed, I had to share a few of my favorite picks at the moment. |

Imagine having a laugh so infectious, even animals join in on the fun. Taken at what looks to be a kind of farming expo, this interviewee's laugh is so contagious, it managed to get the chickens going. Per Australia's Nine.com.au , the segment is from RTV Noord's Expeditie Grunnen. Mid-interview, the pair begin to laugh and everything just escalates from there. Periods are normal, but kids pointing them out in their sketches is something else. Australian woman Penny Rohleder shared a photo of her son's drawing on the Facebook page of blogger Constance Hall on Jul. 25, which well, says it all. SEE ALSO: James Corden tests out gymnastics class for his son and is instantly showed up by children "I don't know whether to be proud or embarrassed that my 5 year old son knows this," Rohleder wrote. "Julian drew a family portrait. I said 'What's that red bit on me?' And he replied, real casual, 'That's your period.'" Well, at least he knows. To give further context, Rohleder revealed she had pulmonary embolism in October 2016, and was put on blood thinning treatment which makes her periods "very, very bad," she explained to the Daily Mail .
