| What's up, internet basketball junkie? What I know about football, I learned from John Madden and EA Sports. What I know about coaching mostly came from studying the greats. And to me, what Curt Cignetti (and the Hoosiers) accomplished last night is the most impressive feat in the history of coaching - across all sports. From "Google me. I win." to mopping the country coast to coast - this wasn't a hot streak or a lucky bracket. It was proof of something coaches hate to admit but secretly believe: systems scale, standards travel, and leadership compounds. Before Cignetti showed up, IU had one winning season in the previous decade, zero conference titles in over 50 years, and a national reputation built on survival, not contention. Now: national champions. That's not a rebuild - that's a full-scale transformation from irrelevance to powerhouse This wasn't about stars. It was about belief, alignment, and execution - at a level we may never see again. If that doesn't challenge how you think about coaching, nothing will. Ahem.
