Design Anthology Retreat, Chandigarh
8–14 March 2026

Chandigarh is a city best experienced slowly. Its modernist architecture and quiet streets reveal layers of history and charm to those who pause to look. This March, spend six days with Design Anthology editors and a small group of fellow travellers, wandering the city, sharing meals and soaking in the serene landscapes of the Himalayan foothills.

Dear reader,

We invite you to join us for spring in Chandigarh to explore the city's modernist foundations alongside its evolving craft and creative cultures.

As we approach our final preparations for this retreat, we have a limited number of spaces remaining for those wishing to join us from 8–14 March 2026. This six-day itinerary offers an immersive journey through the architectural legacy and natural beauty of the region.

We begin in the city, tracing the enduring geometry of Le Corbusier and Pierre Jeanneret. Over three nights at the Hyatt Centric, guests will discover the city's most celebrated design landmarks and gain private access to homes, studios and creative spaces seldom seen by the public, offering an intimate perspective on Chandigarh's vibrant creative community.

The journey continues to Amaya, a secluded sanctuary and member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World, set within a ten-hectare pine forest. Conceived by Bijoy Jain of Studio Mumbai, the hand-built villas and cottages are embedded in the terraced landscape. Days here unfold at a gentler rhythm: guided horticultural tours, walks through nearby villages, and quiet moments by the stone pool.

Exquisite dining is central to this experience, and we will conclude our journey with a final dinner at Naar, the celebrated restaurant by chef Prateek Sadhu, where a seasonal menu draws on the region's ingredients and flavours.

With only a few places remaining, we encourage those wishing to explore further to secure their spot via the form below.

We look forward to welcoming you in March.
