Mastering Framing with the Lomo MC-A
"I mainly used autofocus and often locked focus before recomposing, which worked really well."

Remember: You're Not a Window. Move Freely. Change Your Perspective.
Tip 1: Do Everything by Halves
Your secret to in-focus, well-lit frames with the Lomo MC-A is the humble half-press. Sometimes, it's ok to fear full commitment. Half-press the shutter, check your settings on the LCD Display screen then when you're happy you can commit to the shot!
Tip 2: In the Shalloooooow
Set your aperture wide open (f/2.8) and focus on a close subject. The Lomo MC-A will make your subject stand out with a shallow depth of field and beautiful bokeh.
Tip 3: Watch Your Distance
Get closer, no, closer than that. This camera rewards bravery. There's no zoom so just take a step closer. And another one, don't be shy. From 0.4 m, autofocus or manual zone focusing, fill the frame. From any angle, as long as it's close, see what happens when you dare to try.
Tip 4: Don't be Fooled by Reflections
Want to capture lovers sharing spaghetti behind a window? Remember the glass between you and your subjects. To ensure accurate focus, switch to MF mode and select the appropriate zone-focusing distance.
Tip 5: Forget the Center
No need to center your subject in every frame. No where it or they are located, simply place them within the circle of the viewfinder, half press to focus and meter, move the composition to your liking (don't let go) then fire away.
Remember: You're Not a Window. Move Freely. Change Your Perspective.

"LiDAR (autofocus) can struggle when shooting through reflective glass. Thankfully, the MC-A allows you to switch to zone focusing, which is something most autofocus point and shoots simply don't offer."
