View in Browser An Audacious Analogue Adventurist Journey back to the days when portraits took MINUTES to complete, and there was no perfect portrait lens in sight. Well, that all changed when this guy by the name of Joseph Petzval came along, and, fueled by an intense competitive desire to always be right, invented one. We created an archive dedicated to this swashbuckler, and all you have to do is check it out for yourself. Learn about his life, legacy and discover a few treasures of the past through a Petzval perspective. A Right ol'Bucaneer Sips and Storytelling We were so inspired by Petzval's life and legacy that we scoured international archives to find photos taken with his iconic lens. Given that it is Women's Month, we wanted to feature this 1870s photograph of a group of women engaged in a heart-to-heart chat over some vino. This Ecuadorian albumen print can be found in the collection of the J. Paul Getty Museum.
