Just two months ago, OpenAI was in full-on expansion mode.

"AI is going to transform everything," CEO of applications Fidji Simo told Forbes in January, as the company focused on developing products for everything from ads to shopping to video.

Now, the tone is shifting. OpenAI has reversed course on several initiatives—including its once-viral Sora video app—suggesting a new focus on financial discipline.
