A Day of Discovery at Bellini Preserve

What a fun day becoming citizen scientists with some of you at Bellini Preserve!

We explored 639 permanently protected acres in Polk County at a very special Bioblitz, where we documented the plants and animals that call this special place home.

We logged nearly 300 observations and 115 different species on iNaturalist!

Not too long ago, we saved these 3.5 miles of stunning shoreline from becoming a subdivision. Thanks to the support of you and our fantastic partners, including the Bellini Family, Polk County Natural Lands, and the United States Air Force, Bellini Preserve is now forever wild – and open for you to enjoy!

Don't forget to log what you see on iNaturalist!

Special thanks to the Duke Energy Foundation for sponsoring this Bioblitz.
