Another 1,500+ acres of wild Florida are protected forever. We're proud to announce the permanent protection of 1,564 acres at Square One Ranch, a family-owned working cattle ranch in Highlands County and a critical linkage in the Florida Wildlife Corridor.
This project was made possible through the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services' Rural & Family Lands Protection Program, funding from the U.S. Air Force, the dedication of the Hinton Family, Conservation Florida, and you - our supporters.
Last year, we conserved the neighboring AP Ranch. Now, with Square One Ranch protected & connected, a wildlife corridor is truly thriving. And wildlife sure is using it! Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission telemetry data has documented endangered Florida panthers traveling through this landscape! |
