Quality, Tested CBD – and Why It Matters |
|
|
CBD is increasingly popular, with hundreds of products designed to provide everything from better sleep to relief and recovery to increased focus. Once you’ve figured out which CBD formula is right for you, it’s important to be able to trust that what’s in the bottle or jar matches what’s on the label. |
This is where third-party testing comes in. Independent labs test CBD products, verifying the cannabinoid content matches what’s on the label and screening for the presence of heavy metals, pesticides, and other contaminants. |
Unlike some companies that cut corners, CBDistillery ensures that every single batch of their CBD products are tested by an accredited lab. And these test results are posted on their website, so you can see them before you place your order. |
CBDistillery is so sure you’ll like their products, they’re offering a special deal: save 50% on orders of $75 or more with code NEWS50! |

THE JOKER WAS SO TERRIFIED OF THE MANSON FAMILY HE SLEPT WITH A HAMMER |
By the late 1960s, Jack Nicholson had spent a decade grinding through minor roles with barely any recognition to show for it. Then in 1969, Easy Rider changed everything. |
Nicholson wasn't even supposed to be in the film, he only got the part after two other cast members got into a fight and one walked off the project entirely. |
His performance earned him his first Oscar nomination and turned him into one of Hollywood's most sought-after actors overnight. |
The fame brought him into a tight circle of powerful, glamorous friends, including director Roman Polanski. |
In August 1969, that closeness collided with real horror. |
Members of the Manson Family broke into Polanski's home and brutally murdered his pregnant wife, Sharon Tate, along with several others inside the house. Nicholson stood by Polanski through the devastating aftermath. |
The murders left Nicholson genuinely shaken. For weeks afterward, he started sleeping with a hammer hidden under his pillow, a raw, physical response to a fear he couldn't quite shake off. |
But that hammer wasn't the strangest thing Nicholson did in the aftermath, and what he started doing next surprised even his closest friends. |

THE DAY 50,000 PEOPLE FLED CHERNOBYL AND NEVER RETURNED HOME |
Pripyat was built for one thing: housing the workers at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant. By 1986, it had nearly 50,000 people. Schools. Apartment blocks. A brand new amusement park set to open in days. |
Then Reactor 4 exploded. |
It happened at 1:23 a.m. on April 26, 1986, during a routine safety test. The blast tore the roof clean off the building. A plume of radioactive material shot straight into the sky above the sleeping city. |
Nobody said a word. |
For over a day, Pripyat carried on as if nothing had happened. Kids walked to school. Parents went to work. The air around them had already turned lethal, and not one resident knew it. |
It took officials 36 hours to finally act. When they did, they lied. Pack light, they said. A few days, they said. You'll be home soon. |
They weren't. |
Over a thousand buses rolled in and emptied the entire city in hours. Families left photos on walls, dishes in sinks, toys on bedroom floors, certain they'd be back for all of it. |
The sickness came fast. Burns that wouldn't heal. Organs shutting down one by one. Within weeks, the first deaths hit the workers and emergency crews closest to the blast. In the decades since, thousands of thyroid cancer cases have been traced back to that single night. |
Pripyat was never resettled. It still stands exactly as it was left. |
But what still sits inside those abandoned homes today reveals exactly how sudden that goodbye really was. |
